Weber Pulse 1000
Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Weber manual.
Which light or message is showing?
- Red status indicator lights flashing: Barbecue is preheating. The red lights flash while the barbecue heats up toward the temperature you set.
- Red status indicator lights stop flashing and stay lit: Barbecue has reached temperature. The lights stay on and the controller beeps once the set temperature is reached.
- Blue light flashing: Ready to pair with a smart device. The blue light flashes to show the controller is ready to connect over Bluetooth.
- Blue light on, not flashing: Already paired to a device. A steady blue light means the barbecue is already connected to a smart device.
- Bluetooth indicator light is off: Power to Bluetooth has been cut. The built-in safety device may have interrupted power to the controller.
- Digital display and status lights are both off: Safety device has cut power to the barbecue. The built-in RCD safety device may have interrupted the power supply.
- Error code on display: Controller fault during start-up or cooking. An error code can appear if the power supply changes or nearby radio signals affect the controller.
Common problems
My barbecue will not turn on
- Is the temperature controller fully attached? Remove it and push it straight back onto the mounting bracket.
- Did you plug in the controller before the power cable? Always plug the temperature controller into the barbecue first, then plug the power cable into the socket.
- Is the electrical socket working? Check the electrical power supply the barbecue is plugged into.
- Are the display and lights completely off? The safety device may have cut power. Reset it by turning the red power button off for 30 seconds, then back on.
An error code shows on the display
- Could power or radio interference be the cause? The controller is sensitive to changes in power supply and nearby radio signals.
- Have you power-cycled the controller? Turn it off, unplug, remove it, wait 30 seconds, then reattach and plug back in.
The app will not connect over Bluetooth
- Is Bluetooth on and your phone nearby? Bluetooth only works at short range, so turn it on and keep your device near the barbecue.
- Is the barbecue already paired to another phone? A steady, non-flashing blue light means it's paired elsewhere. Turn off Bluetooth on devices you don't want connected.
- Is the Bluetooth indicator light off? The safety device may have cut power. Reset the controller off, wait, then back on.
Food sticks or the barbecue heats unevenly
- Is the barbecue overdue for a deep clean? Low temperatures, uneven heat and sticking food mean cleaning is overdue. A thorough clean is recommended after every five cooks.
- Did you preheat on high first? Always preheat on the highest setting first, even if the recipe calls for medium or low heat.
- Are the cooking grates clean before you start? Leftover residue acts like glue. Brush the hot grates with a stainless steel brush once preheated.
