Breville Juice Fountain BJE200

Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Breville manual.

Common problems

The juicer won't turn on, or sounds wrong when it starts

  1. Is the safety locking arm locked in the vertical position? The locking arm must sit in the two grooves on the sides of the juicer cover before the motor will run.
  2. Is the juicer cover clamped securely in place? The motor will not turn on until the cover is clamped down with the safety locking arm.
  3. Is the Nutri Disc locked into position? A loose Nutri Disc causes a loud noise at start up. Turn off, unplug, take the juicer apart and put it back together.

The motor stalls or pulp builds up while juicing

  1. Is wet pulp building up under the cover because you are pushing too fast? Push the food pusher down slower, then clean the pulp container, Nutri Disc and juicer cover.
  2. Is excess pulp building up in the Nutri Disc? Stop juicing, remove the cover and scrape off the pulp, then reassemble and keep going. Try alternating soft and hard produce.

Little or no juice is coming out

  1. Is the pulp coming out too wet, with less juice than usual? Push the food pusher down slower, remove the Nutri Disc, and scrub the mesh walls with the nylon brush.
  2. Is the spout blocked with pulp? Check the spout for blocked pulp and clean it following the care and cleaning steps.

Juice leaks or sprays instead of flowing into the jug

  1. Is juice leaking between the rim of the juicer and the filter cover? Push the food pusher down slower to reduce leaking.
  2. Is juice spraying out of the spout? Push the food pusher down slower to reduce spray.

Step-by-step guides

Assemble the juicer

  1. Place the motor base on a flat, dry counter.
  2. Set the pulp container on the base so the spout fits through the front hole.
  3. Line up the arrows on the Nutri Disc and push down until it clicks.
  4. Lower the juicer cover so its ridges line up with the plastic wings.
  5. Raise the safety locking arm and lock it into the grooves on the cover.
  6. Slide the food pusher down the feed chute, lining up the groove with the bump.
  7. Place the juice jug sideways under the spout.

Take the juicer apart

  1. Turn the ON/OFF button to off and unplug the juicer.
  2. Wait until the filter basket has completely stopped spinning.
  3. Pull the locking arm back over the grooves on the cover, then move it down.
  4. Lift the pulp container straight up off the motor base.
  5. Lift the food pusher straight up to remove it.
  6. Lift off the juicer cover and scrape any pulp from it with the flat end of the brush.
  7. Lift the Nutri Disc straight up from the pulp bowl.
  8. Empty the pulp into a bowl for composting or into the bin.

Clean the Nutri Disc filter basket

  1. Rinse the Nutri Disc under running water right after juicing.
  2. Soak the Nutri Disc in hot soapy water for about 10 minutes.
  3. Hold the Nutri Disc under running water and brush the inside with the nylon brush.
  4. Hold it up to a light to check the mesh holes are not blocked.
  5. If holes are blocked, soak in hot water with 10% lemon juice to loosen them.
  6. Or wash the Nutri Disc in the dishwasher, top shelf only.
