Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
What does the display say or which light is on?
- The washer is not getting any hot water.: No hot water reaching the wash. The hot water supply is too cold, blocked, kinked or not connected properly.
- The washer is not getting any cold water.: No cold water reaching the wash. The cold tap, hose or water flow may be the problem.
- The washer is not getting any water.: No water at all is entering the washer. Both taps, the hoses or the drain hose position can cause this.
- The washer is out of balance.: Load is unevenly spread. The wash load has become unbalanced so the washer has stopped.
- The washer has too many suds.: Too much foam in the wash. Too much detergent has been used for the soil level or load.
- The lid can't lock or the lid is open.: Lid is not closed or won't lock. The washer cannot continue the cycle until the lid is closed and locked.
- The washer is overloaded.: Too much in the washer to move. The load is too large for the washer to agitate.
- The washer has stopped.: Washer paused itself. This happens after a power cut, or after the washer sat inactive for 3 minutes and auto drained.
- The washer is on but the display is blank.: Display has gone blank. The washer was left unattended without starting a cycle for a while.
- LID LOCKED light is on: Lid is locked for the cycle. The light above the button shows whether you can open the lid.
- BOWL CLEAN cycle icon flashing: Time to clean the bowl. The washer reminds you to run a Bowl Clean cycle after every 100 cycles.
- Number shown on display with continuous beeping: A fault has occurred. The washer has detected a fault and shows a fault number on the display.
Common problems
The washer won't turn on
- Is the power switched on at the wall? Switch the power on at the wall, then touch POWER.
- Does another appliance work in the same socket? Try plugging in another electrical appliance to check the household power supply.
- Is KEYLOCK activated? Touch and hold the KEYLOCK button for 2 seconds to release it.
The washer won't fill with water
- Are both taps turned on? Check that both the hot and cold taps are turned on.
- Are the inlet hose filters blocked? Clear any blockages from the inlet hose filters.
- Is DELAY START set? A delayed start will hold off filling until the set time.
The washer is noisy or keeps going out of balance
- Is the load out of balance? Pause the washer and manually redistribute the load.
- Is the washer level? Check the washer is level and does not rock in any direction.
- Is it a towel load causing the imbalance? Try washing a mix of large and smaller towels together.
- Is there a fault causing the noise? Continuous beeping or a musical series of beeps means a fault, not just noise.
Clothes aren't coming out clean
- Are you using the right detergent? Use a Low Suds or HE detergent, and try a little less if garments are only lightly soiled.
- Is the soil level set correctly? Check you are using the soil level that matches how dirty the load is.
- Is the wash water too cold? A warm wash that is too cold can leave soil behind, try a different temperature.
- Are you using enough detergent for the load? Not enough detergent for the load size or soil level will leave clothes less clean.
