Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
What does the display say?
- F: A fault has stopped the wash. The machine beeps continuously and an F code flashes. You can often clear it by turning the machine off and back on.
- A1: Water supply fault. The machine cannot get enough water. Check the tap is on, then clear and resume the wash.
- A3: Drawer cannot drain. The drain hose or pipe connection may be blocked or kinked.
- A6: Spray arm or water pressure problem. The spray arm has come loose or water pressure is too low.
- A7: Too much foam detected. The machine has gone into an auto recovery program because of excess foam, usually from the wrong detergent.
- Lock symbol lit (keylock): Keylock is on. All buttons on that drawer's control panel are disabled.
- Lock symbol lit (childlock): Childlock is on. All buttons are disabled and the drawer is locked closed.
- Salt indicator red: Water softener salt is low. The salt reservoir needs filling for the water softener to keep working.
- Rinse aid indicator bright red: Rinse aid is low. There is not enough rinse aid left for a good drying and finish result.
Common problems
Dishes come out dirty
- Did you pick the right wash program for the load? Choose a stronger program for heavily soiled items.
- Is the spray arm blocked or not turning? Make sure nothing is in its path and it is mounted correctly.
- Is the drawer loaded correctly? Check items are placed so water can reach all surfaces.
- Are the filter plate and drain filter clean and fitted right? A blocked or wrongly fitted filter stops water reaching the dishes.
Water is leaking
- Is the drain hose disconnected from the waste pipe? Reconnect it securely.
- Is the water inlet hose connected properly? Make sure it is fitted securely.
- Is the rinse aid dispenser plug closed properly? An open plug can cause leaking or foaming.
- Is the leak coming from somewhere else? Turn off the water and power supply and call for service.
The drawer will not open
- Is Childlock turned on? Turn Childlock off to unlock the drawer.
- Has the closed drawer auto lock kicked in? Press any button and open the drawer within 30 seconds.
The dishwasher will not start
- Is the power supply connected? Check the appliance is plugged in and powered.
- Is the drawer closed properly? Push the drawer firmly shut.
- Is Keylock or Childlock turned on? Turn off whichever lock is active.
