Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
What does the display say or which light is flashing?
- F code (flashing, continuous beeping): A fault has occurred. An F code means the dishwasher has detected a fault. It can often be cleared with a simple reset.
- A1: Water supply fault. The dishwasher is not getting water.
- A3: Drawer cannot drain. The drain hose or connection may be blocked or kinked, stopping water from leaving the drawer.
- A6: Spray arm problem or low water pressure. The spray arm has come loose or come off its mounting, or water pressure is too low.
- A7: Too much foam detected. The dishwasher has started an auto recovery program because it found excess foam in the drawer.
- Salt indicator glowing red: Salt reservoir needs filling. A red salt indicator means the water softener salt reservoir is running low.
- Rinse aid indicator glowing or flashing bright red: Rinse aid is low. A bright red rinse aid indicator means it is time to refill the dispenser.
Common problems
Dishes aren't coming out clean
- Did you pick the right wash program for this load? A lightly soiled load needs a different program to heavily soiled pots and pans.
- Can the spray arm turn freely? Check nothing is blocking it and that it's mounted correctly.
- Are the filter plate and drain filter clean and fitted properly? A blocked or badly fitted filter stops dishes getting clean.
- Is anything blocking the spray arm from underneath? Items sticking out under the racks or basket can stop the spray arm turning.
The dishwasher won't start
- Is the power supply connected? Check the plug is in and the power is on.
- Is the drawer closed firmly? The drawer needs to be fully closed to start a wash.
- Is KEYLOCK or CHILDLOCK turned on? Either lock disables the control panel and will stop a wash starting.
The drawer won't open
- Is CHILDLOCK turned on? CHILDLOCK locks the drawer closed. Turn it off to open the drawer.
- Did the closed drawer auto lock just engage? If the drawer locks itself 30 seconds after closing, press any button and open it within the next 30 seconds.
Water is leaking from the dishwasher
- Is the drain hose disconnected from the waste pipe? A loose drain hose will let water leak out.
- Is the water inlet hose connected correctly? Make sure the inlet hose connection is secure.
- Is the rinse aid dispenser plug closed properly? A loose plug can cause leaking or foaming.
- Is the leak coming from somewhere else? If it's not the hoses or rinse aid plug, turn off the water and power and get help.
