Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
Which indicator pattern is flashing?
- SANITIZE indicator flashing: Sanitize cycle did not reach temperature. The wash finished but the dishes were not sanitized because the water did not reach the needed temperature.
- Rinse aid indicator glows or flashes bright red: Rinse aid is low. There is not enough rinse aid left for the wash.
- Salt indicator red: Water softener salt is low. The salt reservoir needs to be topped up for the water softener to work properly.
- Wash program + lock + one or more modifiers flashing (F fault): A fault has occurred on the drawer. The machine beeps continuously and lights flash to show something has gone wrong.
- A1: Water supply fault. The dishwasher cannot get water.
- A3: Drawer cannot drain. Water is not draining away from the drawer.
- A6: Spray arm or water pressure problem. The spray arm has come loose or water pressure is too low, sometimes combined with too much foam.
- A7: Too much foam detected. The dishwasher has found excess foam and is running an automatic recovery program.
- A09: Sanitize temperature not reached. The sanitize cycle did not get the water hot enough to sanitize the dishes.
Common problems
Dishes are coming out dirty
- Is this the right wash program for the load? Choose the wash program that matches how soiled the dishes are.
- Can the spray arm turn freely? Check nothing is blocking the spray arm, and that it is mounted correctly.
- Is the drawer loaded correctly? Incorrect loading can stop water reaching the dishes.
- Are the filter plate and drain filter clean and in place? A blocked or badly fitted filter reduces wash performance.
Water is leaking from the dishwasher
- Is the drain hose connected to the waste pipe? A disconnected drain hose will let water leak out.
- Is the water inlet hose connected securely? Check the inlet hose connection is tight.
- Is the rinse aid dispenser plug closed properly? A loose plug can let liquid escape.
- Is the leak coming from somewhere else? If none of the above explain it, switch off the water and power and call for service.
The drawer will not open
- Is CHILDLOCK turned on? CHILDLOCK locks the drawer closed until it is switched off.
- Did the auto lock engage after closing? Press any button and open the drawer within 30 seconds of it locking.
- Did you wait for the tones before trying to open it mid-wash? Opening the drawer during a wash without the right tones first can jam the lock.
The dishwasher will not start
- Is the power supply connected? Check the appliance is plugged in and powered.
- Is the drawer closed firmly? The wash will not begin unless the drawer is fully shut.
- Is KEYLOCK or CHILDLOCK turned on? These lock features stop the controls from working until turned off.
- Did you close the drawer within 7 seconds of pressing Start? If too much time passes between pressing Start and closing the drawer, the wash will not begin.
