Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
What is the display or light telling you?
- LID LOCKED light illuminated: The lid is locked. The lid locks for safety during parts of the wash cycle so you cannot open it.
- BOWL CLEAN cycle icon flashing: Time to clean the bowl. The washer reminds you to run a Bowl Clean cycle after a set number of washes.
- Musical series of beeps every 5 seconds with a message on screen: User warning, a problem you can fix yourself. The washer has found a problem you can usually solve without calling for service.
- Continuous beeping, all lights off, a number on the display: Fault code. A fault has occurred and the washer needs to be reset.
Common problems
The washer won't turn on
- Is the power switched on at the wall? Turn the power on at the wall and then touch the power button.
- Is the power outlet working? Plug a different appliance into the same outlet to check the supply.
- Is Keylock turned on? Keylock blocks the buttons. Hold the Keylock button for 2 seconds to turn it off.
The washer won't fill with water
- Are both taps turned on? Check that the hot and cold taps are both open.
- Are the inlet hose filters blocked? Clear any blockages from the inlet hose filters.
- Is Delay Start set? The washer will wait until the delayed start time before filling.
The washer is noisy, won't spin, or keeps going out of balance
- Is the load out of balance? Pause the washer and spread the load evenly around the bowl by hand.
- Is the washer level? Check that the washer sits level and does not rock in any direction.
- Does it keep going out of balance? You can change the out of balance recovery setting in the pre-set options.
Clothes aren't coming out clean
- Is the soil level setting right for the load? Match the soil level button to how dirty the load actually is.
- Is the wash water warm enough? A warm wash that is too cold will not clean as well.
- Are you using enough detergent? Not enough detergent for the load size or soil level can leave clothes dirty.
- Is the washer overloaded? Reduce the load size so clothes can move freely and wash properly.
