Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Westinghouse manual.
Common problems
The pressure washer won't turn on
- Is it plugged into a grounded outlet? Connect the power cord to a grounded 120 volt outlet.
- Is there water pressure trapped in the hose? Pull the trigger to release the water pressure.
- Has the GFCI tripped? Press the RESET button on the power cord.
- Could the motor or power cord be defective? Contact Westinghouse customer service toll-free for help.
The unit runs but no water comes out
- Is the water coming from the right source? Connect the pressure washer to a water main. Do not use water from a lake, pool, or pond.
- Is the nozzle clogged? Clean the nozzle.
- Is the spray lance defective? Replace the lance.
The washer runs for a couple seconds then shuts off
- Is this the auto-start feature priming the pump? The motor runs for 1 to 2 seconds to prime the pump, then shuts off until the trigger is squeezed. This is normal and does not mean there is a problem.
- Are you squeezing the trigger too quickly? Squeezing the trigger rapidly can make the auto-start feature miss a cycle and keep the washer from turning on. Use slow, deliberate trigger pulls.
