Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Electrolux manual.
What does the indicator on the display mean?
- Rinse hold: Water is being held after the last rinse. The final spin was skipped so the water stays in the drum to stop creasing. The door stays locked until you drain it.
- Silent: The programme will finish quietly with water left in. Spinning is suppressed so the machine runs quietly, which suits night-time use. The water drains out by itself after a while.
- No spin: Spinning is switched off for this load. All spin phases are turned off. The machine will only drain the water at the end of the programme.
- Child lock symbol: The control panel is locked. This stops children changing the settings while a programme runs or is being set.
- Repeated short beeps: The machine has a fault. A sequence of short beeps for about five minutes means the appliance has a malfunction.
Common problems
The machine won't fill with water
- Is the water tap turned on? Make sure the tap feeding the machine is fully open.
- Is the water pressure too low? Check with your local water authority if you suspect low pressure.
- Is the inlet hose kinked, damaged or bent? Straighten the hose and check it is connected correctly at both ends.
- Are the inlet hose and valve filters blocked? Check both filters for debris and clean them if they are clogged.
The machine won't drain the water
- Is the sink spigot blocked? Check the drain connection at the sink is clear.
- Is the drain hose kinked or bent? Straighten the hose so water can flow freely to the drain.
- Is the drain filter clogged? Clean the filter if it is blocked.
- Did you choose a programme without a drain phase? Set the drain programme if the one you ran does not empty the water.
The door is locked or won't open
- Is the door properly closed? Push the door firmly shut and check it has clicked closed.
- Has the programme finished and the door-locked light gone off? The door stays locked until the programme ends and the water is drained.
- Did you set Rinse hold or Silent? These options leave water in the drum, so the door stays locked until you drain it.
The machine stops or won't start during a programme
- Did an internal fault interrupt the programme? Switch the appliance off and on again. Contact the service centre if the alarm comes back.
- Is the mains power supply unstable? Wait for the power supply to settle before starting again.
- Has the anti-flood device activated? Unplug the machine and close the water tap, then contact the Authorised Service Centre.
