Breville Baker's Oven BBM100

Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Breville manual.

What does the error code mean?

Common problems

The display shows E01 and beeps fast

  1. Is the oven still warm from the last bake? This happens if the sensor inside the oven is still above 40°C from a previous loaf.
  2. Did rapid beeps sound when you tried to start? That is the machine telling you it is too hot to reprogram yet.

The bread maker won't start or keeps stopping

  1. Was the power interrupted while it was running? A short interruption is handled automatically if it lasted 5 minutes or less.
  2. Did you accidentally press and hold START/STOP? Holding this button for about 2 seconds cancels the whole program.
  3. Is the oven still too hot from a previous bake? The machine cannot start a new program until it has cooled to the correct temperature.

The bread didn't rise properly

  1. Did you check the flour and yeast use-by dates? Check the protein level of the flour and whether the yeast is still fresh.
  2. Did you forget to add the yeast or measure it wrong? The yeast may have failed to activate or the amount measured may be inaccurate.
  3. Was the water too hot or too cold? Water that is too hot or too cold stops the yeast from working properly.

The loaf collapsed or has large holes

  1. Did you measure the ingredients accurately? Check the recipe ingredients and how they were weighed or measured.
  2. Was there too much yeast, water or liquid, or not enough flour? An imbalance of these ingredients can make the top pale and cause it to collapse while baking.
  3. Could air bubbles have built up during the last rise? Air can sometimes gather in one spot during the final rise and bake in that state, leaving large holes.
